According to Naija Tech Guide; "Gotv is a digital terrestrial TV service, not satellite TV. So, the service is deployed through TV masts and accessible only in locations with GOtv transmitter coverage. Currently GOtv is available in the following cities in Nigeria and in some cases their environs: Lagos, Enugu, Ibadan, Abeokuta, Benin City Owerri, Akwa Ibom, and Port Harcourt.
The major advantage of the GOtv setup is that no satellite dish is required leading to low/zero installation cost. It is plug n play, so you can install it yourself. Any TV antenna can be used for receiving the GOtv signals".
It should be noted that Gotv is a product form DSTV. A way of appealing to the lower class of the society by giving a full experience of a cable TV. This is surely a money saving option if you are looking to cut cost and could be a value for money depending on your objectives though.

Go TV is the second option to DSTV but far better than Startimes.
Picture Quality
The picture quality is fair enough but not as sharp as that of DSTV. If you are an HD chronic, I will advise you to stay away from Gotv but try DSTV explorer. I used gotv on an HD Sony TV but the picture quality is not that excellent as that of DSTV but a a very good option nevertheless.
Products
There are two types of decoders for Gotv. There is a decoder that needs and external antenna and another that does not need an external antenna. Unconfirmed information has it that Gotv is currently trying to stop the decoder that does not require antenna.If this is true in the long run, then new subscribers will only have the option of buying the Gotv decoder that requires external antenna.
Signal Strength
For all the listed states, the reception is quite clear and strong in almost all locations. However, picture might sometime go choppy due to bad signal but this could be very rare except you have not placed your external antenna,high enough.
Compensation
Company offers compensation during bad signal days and may sometimes extend your subscription days. Occasionally, Gotv may decide at its own digression to open all channels during festive period irrespective of the plan you have.
Loading Time
I actually bought this product simply because of its loading time. Initially when Gotv first came into Nigeria, the loading time for the decoder was so fast and excellent.
Unfortunately, the loading time is now longer and even similar to that of DSTV(if not longer).
Subscription Plan
Gotv offers about 4 plans of which the highest plan is currently Gotv plus which cost N1,800. This gives you access to premium channels on DSTV like CNN,Sony,SonyMAX, ENews, Discovery,NWild,MTV Base,etc.

If you have the time to visit any of their offices, the staff are well trained and knowledgeable of the products so you are assured of getting your issue resolved before you leave if the issue is not too complex.

Advise to Company
Increase picture quality and offer pay-as-you-go package to customers. Stop forcing us to watch TV, and let people only pay for what they use. Why would someone who did not watch a single channel through out a month having valid subscription be made to renew subscription again for next month.
